 Muay Thai training

Muay Thai training

Finally! I’ve dreamed of doing this for ages, and I finally got to photograph Muay Thai training sessions. Yesterday, I was at the MBK Center in Bangkok, where Muay Thai competitions were taking place. It was my first time seeing fights "in the flesh," and I found the experience incredibly impressive. (French version included)

Before leaving, I spotted a small group of people getting dressed—one of the boxers and his team. I plucked up the courage to introduce myself and asked if they would let me attend a training session to take photos.

By late afternoon, I was watching them train in a public sports park, with the green light to take whatever photos I wanted.

I have to say, everything I saw impressed me—from the warm welcome I received from the young athletes (who made up the majority of the group) to the sheer tenacity of these young fighters. One of them—no more than twelve years old—particularly blew me away with his strength, tenacity, and endurance. Four hours of intense training! Daniel, the boxer who made this possible, told me he was *their* champion. I can well believe it.

Enfin!!!
