真正的旅行者不知道自己要去哪里。, The true traveler does not know where he is going, Le vrai voyageur ne sait pas où il va...
I’ve put this phrase on all my social media profiles. I find it very apt in my case: I never quite know where I’m headed.
For this summer trip, I had considered Bangkok, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong. In the end, it’s going to be Bangkok, Bangkok, and Bangkok. Just like Hong Kong, this city and its people fascinate me.
As I’ve written elsewhere, Hong Kong was to me like that beautiful woman or stunning guy who would make eyes at me and flash charming smiles, yet push me away every time I tried to embrace them...
Bangkok is different: Bangkok doesn’t know me, Bangkok doesn’t make eyes at me, Bangkok doesn't care.
It’s up to me to woo her, and perhaps then she’ll let me get closer. I've extended my stay once again ;-)
